The Australia Day Honours List recognises and celebrates over 1,000 recipients for meritorious, distinguished and conspicuous service.
Congratulations to the following Old Scotch Collegians who were recently awarded Australia Day Honours on 26 January 2023:
- Philip Law AM for significant service to the community through a range of humanitarian organisations. Philip is a past student from the Class of 1981
- John Simpson AM for significant service to the business sector, to education, and to the community. John is a past student from the Class of 1975, past parent, and former School Councillor and Foundation Board member.
- Graeme Stoney AM for significant service to the community, and to the Parliament of Victoria. Graeme is a past student from the Class of 1957.
- Colin Bell OAM for service to the financial services sector. Colin is a past student from the Class of 1958 and a past parent.
- Ron Frederick OAM for service to orienteering and rogaining. Ron is a past student from the Class of 1965 and a past parent.
- John Woodside OAM for service to the construction industry. John is a past student from the Class of 1959.
- Marcus Doherty CSM for meritorious achievement as the Staff Officer Grade Three for Quantum Technology within Future Land Warfare Branch, Army Headquarters, and delivering Army’s Quantum Technology Roadmap and driving innovation in emerging technology. Marcus is past student from the Class of 2000.
- Professor John Thomson for significant service to botanical science and research, and to tertiary education. John is past student from the Class of 1951.
